NAMI-Ohio hosted a program and reception to showcase the new video, Thick 'n Thin: Understanding Teen Depression and the revised Red Flags curriculum in Dublin, Ohio on October 8, 2008. The reception honored the Dublin City Schools for being the first Ohio School District to implement the Red Flags Program districtwide. This implementation was made possible by a grant from The Dublin Foundation, and is a collaboration of the Dublin Counseling Center, the National Alliance on Mental Illness Ohio and Dublin City Schools.

Speakers at the reception included Ohio's First Lady, Frances Strickland and Ohio Department of Mental Health Director Sandy Stephenson who addressed the importance of the program for the health, wellness and success of Ohio's youth. The Mayor of Dublin, Marilee Chinnici-Zuercher proclaimed October 5-11 "Red Flags Awareness Week".

Red Flags Included on the Ohio Effective Practice Registry

Effective Practice Registry for the state of Ohio. This registry highlights schools and school-mental health partnerships that are demonstrating effective implementation of a program or strategy that is successfully addressing an academic and/or social-emotional need of students in their community. Information concerning the highlighted programs on the registry includes detailed information about the program, the resources necessary for successful implementation.
